Overview
GoonGuard ("we", "our", "the app") is a self-improvement app that helps users build accountability through daily check-ins and voluntary financial commitments. We are committed to protecting your privacy.
Data Stored on Your Device
Check-in data: Your daily check-in records (date, clean/relapse status, fine amount) are stored locally on your device only. We never transmit this data to any server.
Preferences: Your selected fine tier, notification preferences, and onboarding status are stored locally on your device.
Data Processed by Third Parties
RevenueCat: We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases. When you make a purchase, RevenueCat processes your purchase history and an anonymous user identifier for receipt validation. RevenueCat does not receive your name, email, or payment details. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Apple / Google: Payments are processed by the App Store or Play Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card numbers, or Apple ID / Google account credentials. See Apple's Privacy Policy and Google's Privacy Policy.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- No personal information (name, email, phone)
- No account registration required
- No location data
- No device identifiers or advertising IDs
- No analytics or tracking
- No browsing or search history
- No health or fitness data
Local Storage
All app data is stored exclusively on your device. If you delete the app, all data is permanently erased. We have no backup of your data and cannot recover it.
In-App Purchases
GoonGuard offers voluntary consumable in-app purchases ("fines") as an accountability mechanism. These purchases are non-refundable and are processed through the platform's native payment system (Apple Pay / Google Pay). Refund requests must be directed to Apple or Google.
Notifications
If you grant permission, we schedule a local daily notification to remind you to check in. These are generated on-device and are not push notifications from a server. You can disable them at any time in Settings.
Children's Privacy
GoonGuard is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 17. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected with an updated "Last updated" date.
